------------------ Mr. Kip McKisson, The defensive and at times outright offensive nature of your comments belies an intellectual position which is all but enlightened. The word Tribal does not denote a style but an ethnic origin. The specialist that you are must know that there are styles ranging from figurative to abstract, official to popular in the arts that you are dealing. If you are in intent on categorizing the arts of non-white indigenous people as tribal then you should refer to the art whose styles include Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art as white art or Caucasion Art. Last but not least, that you are married to a Kenyan (a tribal indigenous non-white person) does obviously not make you immune to prejudiced or racialist if not racist comments. So please do not use this as an argument in your ideologically fraught apology of the use of the word tribal. Claire Tancons
