I haven't seen the article and I can't pretend to know why the administration invited Remini, but it occurs to me that Jackson's presidential image played a more important part in the White House interest in Old Hickory than his foreign policy or domestic political analogies. I'm sure that GWB and his handlers hope that the president's emotional resolve and "lack of polish" will only strengthen his popularity among "common people", as it did with Jackson. Bush is a third generation millionaire, but his appeal, like Jackson's, is homespun. Bill Mac Kay
