I am currently in St. Petersburg and had dinner with one of the archivists literally last night. The new building is allegedly done, but they are still packing the documents (six months after they started) - they intend to start moving them in March, although considering there are 8 million dela (or something like that) and the library, and so on, they don't (the archivists, that is) expect to be done for at least five years. However, six months ago they told me it would be 15 years, so there's hope. I would guess, however, that it will be at least two years before anything is accessible, and perhaps more. Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings! Marlyn Miller Brandeis University
