------------------------------------------------------- CALL FOR PAPERS The Department of German, Scandinavian and Dutch at the University of Minnesota announces its third biannual Graduate Student Conference STRANGERS IN A STRANGE LAND Diaspora, Travel, Migration, Exile Minneapolis, March 7-9, 2003 Submission deadline: November 17, 2002. Topics will include but are not limited to such issues as: a.. Nomads, travelers, migrants b.. Crossing borders between identities, genres and disciplines c.. The ousted, their traumas and their return d.. Displacing centers e.. Traveling cultures f.. Diasporic identity g.. Exile: trope and reality h.. Homes and territories i.. Minorities j.. Multiculturalism The keynote speaker of the conference is Dominick LaCapra, Cornell University.
