  I suggest you check the following books for the secondary source material
you seek:

Koch, H. W.  "The Hitler Youth:  Origins and Development 1922-1945" London,
1975.  [good bibliography and a fair chapter on the HJ at war]

Rempel, Gerhard "Hitler's Children:  The Hitler Youth and the SS"  Chapel
Hill, 1989. [a section on the wartime pre- and para-military training camps
will be of particular interest]

Brandenburg, Hans-Christian.  "Die Geschichte der HJ:  Wege und Irrwege
einer Generation" Koeln, 1982.  [ only a brief section on HJ war service,
but useful organizational charts]

Luther, Craig W. H.  "Blood and Honor:  The History of the 12th SS Panzer
Division, 'Hitler Youth,' 1943-1945"  San Jose, 1987.  [no direct bearing
on your topic, but the related bibliography may be useful]
