Submitted by: Michael Kater <mkater@yorku.ca> Let me add to Elizabeth Heineman's excellent additions (I should have included her book actually, because I know about it but have not read it yet), that Gisela Bock will have a first-rate article on the subject in English (I have read it in ms.), in the following volume soon to be published by Cambridge Press: G. Bock, "Sterilization and 'Medical' Massacres in National Socialist Germany: Ethics, Politics, and the Law," in: Manfred Berg and Geoffrey Cocks, eds., _Medicine and Modernity: Public Health and Medical Care in Ninteenth- and Twentieth-Century Germany_ (Cambridge, 1997), 149-72. This volume is published in the well-known series of the German Historical Institute Washington and should be available early in January of 1997. Michael H.
