In my segment of the CBS market (Philadelphia), the first commercial break, slotted in just as the war was coming to its (inaccurate) end, opened with an ad for some kind of disinfectant, run against faint background music from the Ride of the Valkyries and including the words, either spoken or on screen, 'Kills all Germs.' Did anyone else notice this, or did I imagine it? And am I the only one to have found its multiple resonances stunningly ingenuous? Jane Caplan
