The Munich-based Institut fuer Zeitgeschichte (IfZ)
has launched a research project titled "Wehrmacht in
der nationalsozialistischen Diktatur 1933 bis 1945".
The four major studies currently under way address,
among other things, the issue of the Wehrmacht's
(e.g., Dienststellen, Oberbefehlshaber, and
Divisionstruppen) responsibility for and participation
in genocide and other atrocities. Upon completion this
project will surely surpass already existing
scholarship (Omer Bartov, Hannes Heer et al.).
