A great film on the theme of exile is CHRIST STOPPED AT EBOLI (1979,
Rosi).  There's also the recent film, THE POSTMAN, another look at exile
in Italy.  I assume the reference to MASALA in the message was to
MISSISSIPPI MASALA.
