I would like to present a paper at the 2001 SHAFR Conference on the
so-called "Pig War" of 1859-60, which involved a border dispute between
the United States and Britain over San Juan Island, located in the Puget
Sound. I think such a paper would fit in well with a panel based upon one
of the following themes:
Anglo-American relations in the 1800s (particularly the mid-1800s)
Manifest Destiny and diplomacy
The U.S. military and diplomacy in the mid-1800s
Aside from one to two more paper presenters, is there anyone interested in
chairing/commenting for one of these panels?
