Now added to the H-DC website: http://www.h-net.org/~dclist/50books.html 50 essential Washington DC history books ..a project of the District of Columbia Center for the Book and the Washingtoniana Division of the District of Columbia Public Library. It was compiled by librarians and archivists who work with D.C. history. Its purpose is the promote reading about Washington, D.C., and to enhance knowledge of the city's unique history. I included links to H-DC reviews of the several we have reviewed. So this a good starting point for a discussion of what are people's favorite books on Washington.
