[H-Africa members may have noticed the regular postings on the
list of new books from Congo by William Drake of Livres de
l'Afrique Centrale. I join in expressing condolences to his
family --P.L.]

Simon Bockie, Curatorial Assistant for Africana Collections at
UC Berkeley, has asked us to notify you of the very sad news
that William Drake, his closest friend and the founder of the
firm, Livres de l'Afrique Centrale, died on Monday, November 1
while attending a meeting on the Berkeley campus. The cause was
a sudden heart attack or stroke.
