Death of a Colleague:

I have discovered today (3/29), via the obituary section of
the internet edition of the _London Times_, that Professor
David Beach, the Zimbabwean historian, died of cancer on
February 15 at the age of 55.  Others will be in a better
position than I to eulogize his achievements.
