<firstname.lastname@example.org> Date: 18 June 1998 I can't help re _Fortnightly Spectator_, but can add that Peregrino also wrote articles for Sol Plaatje's _Koranta ea Becoana_ in the early years of this century, including comments on the De Beer's mines in Kimberley, which he contrasted favourably with the Randlords' [slightly] more rapacious activities. Peregrino was still writing newspaper articles in 1912 when he commented prophetically on the foundation of the African National Congress that the new organization was "nothing less than a Native Parliament...[T]he real voice of the people." [F.Z.S. Peregrino, "The S.A. Native National Congress: What it is" _Tsala ea Becuana_ 30 Mar. 1912].
