I agree with almost all comments so far made, and
should like the following ones:
1) Lack of precision:
As country for the Angolan writer Luandino Vieira
appears 'Mozambique', and the Mozambican writer Mia
Couto is included in the list as a female (he and
others may think that he was included in the list of
twelve because the jury needed a female writing in
Portuguese...).
2) The list gives the (wrong) impression that Africa
does not produce science and technology. No books on
science and engineering are included in the list.
3) Speaking about influential African books, one may
ask if school books have not more impact that most of
the books included in the list of 100.
