In line with John Thornton's response to Chris Lowe's discussion of
reparations....
How would one access reparations in the case of Yoruba and other warlords
who, after the British effectively cut off the overseas slave trade,
continued slaving wars for the express purpose of providing "plantation
slaves" to produce the palm and other agricultural products with which to
supply and enrich their own economies? These wars continued until the
European powers took over and interfered. (Such slaving wars are well
documented at least for Yorubaland and the surrounding areas.)
