---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: MPSA Conference <MPSA@conference-info.info> Date: Wed, Nov 4, 2009 at 11:58 AM Subject: 68th MPSA Political Science Conference - Discussants Still Needed; Undergraduate Poster Session *Discussants and Chairs needed for MPSA Conference http://www.mpsanet.org<http://conference-info.info/go.php/600035/497214/3969524> The deadline to submit proposals was two weeks ago, and we had a record number of papers submitted. Even though we are accepting a lower percentage of papers than in the past, we are still in need of experienced scholars willing to serve as discussants or chairs on a panel. If you know of colleagues who might be interested in serving in these roles, please forward them this email and encourage them to serve. We are particularly in need of discussants in Public Opinion; Race, Class & Ethnicity; Legislative Studies. * * The 68th Annual MPSA Political Science Conference will be held April 22-25, 2010, in Chicago. In 2009, more than 5,100 presenters from the United States and 55 countries throughout the world presented almost 4,000 research papers. There are several hosted receptions and networking opportunities for attendees, and the conference has a huge Exhibit Hallfeaturing book publishers and acquisition editors, as well as a Job Placement service provided for all registered attendees. Everything happens in the newly restored Palmer House Hilton in Downtown Chicago, a centrally located, accessible city for travelers.* *Poster Sessions for Undergraduate Students **http://www.mpsanet.org<http://conference-info.info/go.php/600035/497214/3969547> * Several years ago, we added a section where advanced undergraduate students can present their research during a poster session. It is a great opportunity for advanced students who may be interested in attending graduate school, since it gives them experience at an academic conference. If you have any qualified undergraduate students completing a capstone project, please encourage them to submit a proposal. The deadline is January 15th. The registration rate for undergraduate attendees is GREATLY reduced.
