VIA: PMRA-L - Public Management Research Association <pmra-l@ku.edu> To celebrate the 20th year of JPART publication and to mark George Frederickson’s extraordinary contribution to that journal, the current and former editors of the journal are putting together a virtual collection of JPART articles. We are asking you to nominate articles that might appear in that collection representing diverse methodological approaches, theoretical issues, and substantive topics. While the audience for this collection of articles is broadly construed to be all those researchers interested in public administration and management, it is also hoped that it will be of particular value to the next generation of researchers in the field. It is our hope that this work will be used in doctoral level education in two ways. First, each article will provide an exemplar of high quality research from all the different types of work present in the field; the reader will represent a range of issues and topics as well as both quantitative and qualitative methodological approaches. Second, the reader will also provide a picture of the state of both theoretical and empirical knowledge in the field. We are not being explicit about the criteria that you might use to make your nominations. Some of you will emphasize different approaches and articles that have been relevant to your own work. Others will focus on representative articles that meet your idea of the developments in the field. Please be clear about the criteria you used and why you think the article is an exemplar. We would expect you to nominate no more than two articles; the nominated articles will then be considered by the four past and current editors. Please send your nominations to Beryl Radin (radin@american.edu) by January 30th. Stuart Brettschneider Beryl Radin Carolyn Heinrich Craig Thomas (Past and present JPART Editors)
