It is the leading regional journal for the study of the politics, administration and management of local affairs. The journal publishes articles which contribute to the better understanding and practice of local self-government and which are of interest to scholars, policy analysts, policymakers and practitioners. The focus of the journal is on the critical analysis of developments in local governance throughout the world. The editors particularly welcome studies of issues related to European local self-government. Lex localis - Journal of Local-Self Government provides a unique forum for the consideration of all issues related to sub-national levels of government. The Lex localis - Journal of Local Self-Government is published four times a year (in January, April, July and October) by Institute for Local Self-Government and Public Procurement Maribor (Slovenia), Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Trieste (Italy)<http://www.univ.trieste.it/strutture/index.php/from/didattica/strutture/019000> , Faculty of Law, University of Split <http://www.pravst.hr/>(Croatia) and Faculty of Law, University of Graz<http://www.kfunigraz.ac.at/E/fak-inst/rewi_inst.html> (Austria). Articles published in the journal are indexed & abstracted in: *Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI)<http://scientific.thomsonreuters.com/cgi-bin/jrnlst/jlresults.cgi?PC=MASTER&ISSN=1581-5374> *, CSA Worldwide Political Science Abstracts, International Political Science Abstracts. Acceptance of articles is subject to an anonymous refereeing process. Articles submitted to Journal of Local Self-Government should be original contributions. If the article is under consideration by another publication, authors should clearly indicate this at the time of submission. There is no standard length for articles but 4,000 - 6,000 words (including notes and references) is a useful target. The articles should begin with indented and italicized summary of around 100 words, which should describe the main arguments and conclusions of the article. The author should provide brief bibliographical details including affiliation and full correspondence address, research interest and recent publications.
