Dear H-Women subscribers, I am writing to see if any of you could suggest any novels published in the United States in the 1980s and 1990s whose plots are about Muslim women. I would like to incorporate such sources into my dissertation as part of my examination of the American discourse about Muslim women during that period. I have found several novels by women authors from Muslim countries published in the U.S. in the 1980s and 1990s (and memoirs), and I plan to use those in my research, but I have yet to come across novels written by American women that center on female Muslim characters. I would appreciate any suggestions you might have in this regard. Similarly, I would also appreciate suggestions regarding memoirs or travelogues written by Americans who traveled to the Middle East/North Africa/the Muslim parts of Asia during the same period that discuss Muslim gender relations. I have *Not Without My Daughter*, but I would like to examine similar books if they exist. Please email me at kjs81@temple.edu. Thank you so much for your time and assistance. Sincerely, Kelly J.
