As to racism, it existed on both sides, but the real issue was that the Japanese "did not play fair." Sedge and Leckie make that plain. It was Japanese behavior which generated Allied behavior. This statement doesn't mean the Allies were saints, but there was not the ferocity of the Anglo-American German War. Bob Houston W.
