From: Stuart Kohn <firstname.lastname@example.org> Subject: Navy Commodore Date: March 3, 2010 8:28:59 PM EST To: email@example.com, H-NET Military History Discussion List <H-WAR@H-NET.MSU.EDU> In 1982, the Navy reinstated the one star rank of Commodore Admiral, this was changed to Commodore a year later. In 1985, the rank of commodore was abolished and the rank of Rear Admiral (lower Half) was reinstituted as a one star rank (prior to 1982, it was a two star rank, but those on the lower half of the RAdm's list were paid as O-7's, but wore two stars). My question is what happened to those RAdm (LH) who were promoted to that grade just prior to the institution of the Commodore Rank - did they revert to commodore, or did they keep their RAdm rank and two stars?
