From: Laurence Mitchell Burke <email@example.com> Subject: QUERY: ADM Dewey's interest in airplanes Date: March 2, 2010 4:15:05 PM EST To: H-NET Military History Discussion List <H-WAR@H-NET.MSU.EDU> I'm wondering if anyone can direct me to a biography (or any other published document)of Admiral George Dewey that talks about his role in encouraging Naval Aviation as President of the General Board? I've got several primary documents (1910 and later) that indicate he was not simply interested in aviation, but worked to promote it. However, I have seen nothing that explains how he came to that interest.
