I am sorry but I cannot let Mr. Mackinlay's remarks pass at face value. Message from: "Gordon Angus Mackinlay" <email@example.com> Ladies and Gentlemen, > It would appear that the original request has been lost in > the fevour of the discussion. Mr Yared passed on a request, > in part : "......I understand, for example, that a number of > universities in Australia specifically penalize students who > cite from his works, whilst others frown upon it but do not > impose penalties." > > Whilst I know that : WINDSCHUTTLE Keith (1). Is definately frowned upon by a > number of Australian universities, and is banned from the > libraries of such. Evidence please. I have searched the catalogs of all the major universities and found Windchuttle's books present in them all, including in most "The Fabrication of Aboriginal History" (both volumes). > A number of academics having had their qualifications either > revolked or required to resubmit their revised submissions > for doctorates. Evidence please. I'd be particularly interested to know how you know what Examiners' remarks were for individual post-graduate candidates, as they are considered private and between the examiners and the candidates. > The publisher and others have been 'leaned upon' by various > educational authorities and State Governments (notably West > Australia) not to publish the rest of the series, and the > incoming Labor Government in late 2008 made it one of their > priorities (?) to continue this censorship. Evidence please. I have searched extensively online and can find no evidence of this having occurred. It is not a claim even made by Windschuttle himself. If these mysterious "education authorities" were so intent on this, then do all Universities and major public libraries carry copies of his books? I would suggest that you actually produce proof of this grand conspiracy to silence Keith Windschuttle. If anything it smacks of the same persecution complex that Irving suffers from. Windschuttle has had plenty of opportunities to make these claims as he's been on the media considerably over the last few weeks after the launch of his latest volume but he's made nary a peep about such claims of censorship. So, Mr. Mackinlay, how about for a change putting up some evidence of your claims or is that impossible? cheers Brian Ross Independent Scholar of Life.
