Susan K Kent Susan.Kent@Colorado.EDU Dear All, At the risk of appearing self-serving, I wanted to let you know of a project I did for my western civ II course. I teach it from an environmental perpsective, and because I couldn't find a textbook for it, I wrote an etext. It is an online text that the students buy from the website producers (Great River Technologies) for $69 (I don't take royalties from my students). It contains some interative activities--animated triangular trade map, moving at wagon speed compared to train speed--and every chapter has a summary quiz and a primary source quiz. The students seem to like it, if two semesters are enough to go by. If you'd like to take a look at it, I'm happy to provide the info you'll need to get on. The great thing is that if anyone else chose to use it, that person could set his or her own quizzes, or add other assignments, stuff like that. There is lots of flexibility. Hope you're having a wonderful labor day weekend. Best, Susan Professor Susan Kent Chair, Department of History University of Colorado Boulder, CO 80309-0234
