Catherine Kudlick cjkudlick@ucdavis.edu Dear Allison, Thanks for these links, not all of which I know, so this is helpful. But you're right, I'm after something a little different that gets at a bigger question of how to place these sources in context, not just individually but in terms of one another. A better way of posing the question might be: how do we give students a sense of chronology and change over time if we abandon the standard idea of a textbook for an online approach? Or does the very nature of the internet change how we must think about teaching history? Do we rethink narratives or maybe by necessity abandon them? Or do our lectures become names and dates to fill in the gaps? Above all, I'd be grateful to anyone who has found a new way to teach western civ that takes full advantage of the revolutionary aspects of learning on the internet.
