Dearest Utopians, In the interest of getting the Society for Utopian Studies newsletter Utopus Discovered back on the tracks, I invite you all to submit any of the following to me at acohall26@gmail.com: -Book, film, and other reviews -Poems, short stories, creative writing in general -Calls for papers -Article submissions Also, in the past, people have submitted short accounts of how they got involved in utopian studies, and we would love to start this feature again. We invite articles of about 500 words in length. What originally drew you to utopian studies? What were your first influences in the field? The utopian bibliography is also returning, and will be compiled by Stephanie Stripling. Stephanie would be grateful if you could send her any appropriate items you might come across that she should include in the bibliography. These can be sent to Stephanie at gooblet@gmail.com. Additionally, Dr. Roemer had the great idea of including in the bibliography any pop culture and objects related to utopia. So, if you should come across a new hair gel called "Utopia" or something like that, snap a picture with your camera phone and send it to myself or Stephanie. We'll also try to include any TV shows, films, novels, etc. Finally, we will be needing some people who are willing to review articles and/or creative writing before they're published in the newsletter or on the newsletter website. If you're interested, drop me a line in email. There will be some other features in the new Utopus Discovered, and I'm anxious to get started, so any help would be appreciated. I thank you all in advance. -- Alex Hall, M.A. 113 Satterfield Hall Kent State University Kent, OH 44240 (330) 672-1729 ___________ Peter Sands Associate Chair for Undergraduate Studies UW-Milwaukee English Department https://pantherfile.uwm.edu/sands/www/ || http://www.uwm.edu/Dept/English 414.229.5912 || 414.229.2643 (fax) Editor, H-UTOPIA || http://www2.h-net.msu.edu/~utopia/
