UIA 2005 Istanbul Congress Student Competition has been announced. "EXTREME Creating Space in Extreme and Extraordinary Conditions" The competition aims to provide an opportunity for the future architects to demonstrate their creative powers in the face of challenging conditions by designing spaces for different functions chosen by them at places which are extraordinary in terms of their geographic location, topography, flora, climate as well as social and political conditions The deadline of registration for the competition is 25 January, 2005 and the submission deadline is 13 June, 2005. One grand prize of 7.000 $ shall be given by UNESCO to the winning project and various prizes shall also be offered by the UIA Member Sections and sponsors.
