An elderly gentleman in our Louisiana parish (county) says that at the site of a former local CCC camp there are white irises because it was a tradition to plant white irises at CCC camps. Have any of you heard of this as a CCC tradition? An online search yielded an article about a camp in Missouri where the director ordered the crew to plant irises, but it doesn't say whether or not he did that because of CCC tradition. I appreciate any help.
