On Tuesday, 5 February 2013 our dear colleague and friend, Gilles Veinstein,
Professor and Chaire d'Histoire turque et ottomane at the Collège de France
in association with CNRS and Directeur d'études at the École des hautes
études en sciences sociales passed away at age 67. He was a great Ottomanist
and much much more, and will be sorely missed.
