H-TURK has just been informed that due to security concerns the opening
ceremony of the "Masters of Maps: Piri Reis and Mercator" program on 18
October will not be open to the public.  The public is, however, invited
to the symposium on 19 October.  Details are:

   9.45 : Introduction to the symposium by Prof. Dr. Halil İnalcık
