(Posted by Ray Stephens) Date: Tue, 17 Nov 2009 13:58:19 -0600 From: "Myers, Lois E." <Lois_Myers@baylor.edu> Subject: Community Oral History Grant for Texans For forty years now, the Baylor University Institute for Oral History has worked with communities throughout Texas to better record, archive, and present their history. In 2010, the Institute for Oral History is launching a new annual grant program to facilitate community oral history work throughout the state. BUIOH will make available a $2,500 grant to support nonprofit groups in Texas conducting oral history research at the community level. Baylor University will partner with recipients in their efforts and provide training, equipment, consultation, and processing of the field interviews, which will be made available online as well as co-deposited at Baylor University and a local public archive. The community members who carry out the oral history project will also develop and arrange public programming to highlight the accomplishments of their endeavors. The deadline for applications for this grant is January 15, 2010.
