Tennessee History to be Focus of UT Alumni College Event on Nov. 20 Posted on October 22, 2009 3:59 pm Categorized as Press Releases KNOXVILLE Alumni and friends of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, are invited to campus on Nov. 20 for an Alumni College day of learning about Tennessee history. Sponsored by the UT Office of Alumni Affairs Lifelong Learning Program, the Alumni College will feature four speakers between 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The days activities will be held in the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy, 1640 Cumberland Ave. Cost for attending is $40 per person and includes coffee, lunch and parking. Registration is required by Nov. 6 and space is limited. Featured speakers and their presentations are: Bruce Wheeler, director emeritus of UTs Chancellors Honors Program and history professor emeritus, UTs Greatest President: A Look at the Past and Message for the Future. Ed Caudill, professor of journalism and electronic media, Nathan Bedford Forrest: Devil or Military Genius? Dan Feller, history professor and director of the Andrew Jackson Papers Project, The Andrew Jackson Papers Project.
