Sent: 07 July 2009 05:33 Subject: Southern CFP Teaching From John Ishiyama: Dear Colleague (My apologies for any cross listings!) I am writing to encourage you and your colleagues to consider submitting a proposal for the “Teaching Political Science” Section in the upcoming Southern Political Science Association meeting in Atlanta January 7-9 2010 (see http://www.spsa.net/) . This year I am on the program committee in charge of this section. In particular I welcome any proposal related to teaching and learning in political science, but would especially welcome submission of proposals, both individual and for panels, related to the scholarship of teaching and learning. As Editor in Chief of the Journal of Political Science Education (http://www.tandf.co.uk/journals/titles/15512169.asp or http://www.informaworld.com/smpp/title~content=t713723463) , I believe that conference papers are a natural “feeder” for JPSE. Although we follow a rigorous review process, and there are no guarantees, I might add that we at JPSE are also open to special or thematic issues and realize that conference panels make a good start for such issues. I would encourage you to consider submitting either individual proposals or panel proposals to the SPSA this year. The due date is August 5, 2009 and submissions are to be made via the “all academic” link on the SPSA website (see http://www.spsa.net/). Thanks for considering this Best John John Ishiyama, Ph.D. Professor of Political Science Editor-in-chief, Journal of Political Science Education Department of Political Science, University of North Texas, Denton TX, 76203-5340 John.Ishiyama@unt.edu url: http://www.cas.unt.edu/~jishiyama/index.htm
