James Schick has submitted his resignation as editor of H-Survey. He suggests that perhaps the time has passed for an H-Survey list and that it could be rolled into H-Teach. He could be right. There are 267 subscribers to H-Survey. H-Survey was launched almost 15 years ago (see message below) and perhaps its time has passed. There may not be that much interest in the pedagogy of the US Survey course any more, or there may not be a willingness to lead and develop discussion on a moderated list. I invite folks to nominate themselves or others to edit H-Survey. If no one steps forward I will confer with H-Net Council and propose that H-Survey be shuttered in September. We will begin posting today and hope the conversation is as vital as it is on other H-Net lists. Some of you may be interested in what major themes others emphasize in their surveys, others may wonder which if any texts are assigned, or simply what particular assignments are the most effective ways of helping students learn complex historical events. I'm sure there are lots of other threads which we can share together. Welcome.
