The recent issue of the American Historical Association's
bulletin, _Perspectives_, has an interesting article about
using music to teach courses in Western Civilization. We'll
put a permanent link to the article on the H-Southern-Music
homepage (under "Music in the Classroom"). For now, however,
the description and link are below.

In "MUSIC IN WESTERN CIV COURSES ," Mark B. Tauger, associate
professor of history at West Virginia University, describes how
he uses a discussion of the evolving forms of western music to
explain and analyze the historical transformations of western
civilization.
