2011 William A. Douglass Prize in Europeanist Anthropology, Society for the Anthropology of Europe The Society for the Anthropology of Europe is pleased to announce the winner of the 2011 Douglass Book Prize: Muslim Lives in Eastern Europe: Gender, Ethnicity, and the Transformation of Islam in Postsocialist Bulgaria (Princeton University Press, 2010), by Kristen Ghodsee of Bowdoin College. The 2011 Douglass Prize committee was chaired by Jeffrey Cole, President-elect of the Society for the Anthropology of Europe. Panelists also included Caroline Brettell and Susan Carol Rogers. Professor Ghodsee will receive the award at the general business meeting of the SAE during the annual meeting of the American Anthropological Association, November 2011, in Montreal, Canada. -- Jeffrey E.
