Dear H-Net Readers: Help us grow H-Net and celebrate our 20th Anniversary! It seems impossible, but in January 2013 H-Net will celebrate its 20th birthday at the annual meeting of the American Historical Association in New Orleans. Our organization antedates the web and has brought together hundreds of thousands of students, scholars, employers, publishers, and informed citizens in a vast partnership dedicated to sharing information, broadening the base of our common disciplines, and advancing knowledge through online networks. With 200,000 subscribers, almost 200 networks, and over 30,000 book reviews, H-Net has become a vital communications center and scholarly archive for the humanities and social sciences. Over the past seven years H-Net has been rebuilding its services and upgrading its software, and we are fast approaching a new era for our organization. *"H-Net 2.0," the development version of a new platform for our networks, is well underway, and we need your help to finish it.* You can see work in progress at http://demo.h-net.org This new platform will still have the same moderation by field experts, but a much wider array of features and services: blogs; discussions; reviews; user-provided documents, images, audio, and video; customized and saved faceted search; user profiles and customized feeds of content; annotated links, and much more, in a secure, web-based system. Our team is working night and day to complete the full prototype with a user-friendly design. We want to go live in time to celebrate the new H-Net in New Orleans. You can help shape this system to meet your interests and needs: Visit our demonstration site and offer your suggestions by writing to our Executive Director Peter Knupfer <firstname.lastname@example.org>. Make a tax-deductible donation to help us meet the cost of finishing the work -- click on the donation link at the demonstration site or visit: http://www.h-net.org/donations Thank you for supporting H-Net!
