I've written two Arcadia books, which were both well received and reviewed.* I think the quality of any Arcadia publication is a reflection of the personal touch of an editor, which I had for both of my books. However, a few years ago Arcadia got rid of their regional editors and now do all acquisitions and editing out of their office in Charleston. The books, I feel, are now more cookie cutter than they were in the past. Authors with less experience might end up with a book that could have benefited from an engaged editor, and I think this accounts for the varying quality in the titles.
