Juan,

As a media scholar, much of my research examines how television operates
within American culture. And as a result, many people in the American
Studies discipline who pursue the Ph.D. find popular culture fascinating
and make it a subject of their research.  Of course we're an
interdisciplinary field and not many find work outside of academia.  If
