I am contacting you because I have a strong passion and research interest in popular culture. I am specially interested in Gen-Y trends, TV/Media culture, and evolving social norms. I know if I wanted to study these topics, I could find a program that is doing this type of research, and go back to school for a PhD. However, I am contacting individuals who share this passion for pop culture because I would like to get some advice about career opportunities outside Academia. I have been thinking outside box trying to figure out what kind of industries and positions will allow me to combine my pop culture and research interests. I have been thinking about careers in marketing research, journalism, and even writing, but I would like to hear from people who research pop culture to see if they have any other suggestions. I appreciate your time, and I thank you in advanced for your help. -- Juan Carlos Galan, MS Industrial/Organizational Psychologist Data Program Manager The Alliance 1-305-924-5480 <juankgalan@gmail.com>
