Howdy, Yesterday the Illinois State Museum's Oral History of Illinois Agriculture project launched its "Audio-Video Barn" website: http://avbarn.museum.state.il.us We developed the website in partnership with the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, Northern Illinois University, the University of Illinois at Springfield, and Dr. Michael Frisch of Randforce Associates LLC (University at Buffalo, SUNY). The site contains 139 interviews totaling over 300 hours of digital interview recordings. These include 61 old audio recordings from NIU, UIS and ISM library archives. There are also 78 new interviews conducted by ISM and ALPLM crews in 2007-2009, most of which are digital video recordings. Transcripts are posted for most interviews as PDF files. We also digitally indexed the recordings to make them searchable online by theme, topic, name, date, and location. The project was generously supported by a two-year National Leadership Grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. _________________________________ Robert E.
