Thank you for your input! Being of Irish extraction, I can appreciate the importance of storytellers, especially in the schools. I also feel blessed to have had animals in my life growing up. Just saw a link where children are reading to shelter cats. So precious! Working in a library, one of my coworkers said there were three types of librarians: pointers, setters, and retrievers. lol I grew up with German Shorthaired Pointers and Schnauzers. My uncle had a German Shepherd and now I have two. They are so sweet and tolerant of me and so much smarter. I used to have horses at the farm that would look on me benevolently and you could tell they knew it was their job to take care of the human. I used to tell people if you are afraid of horses, you probably don't need to work with them, since if you are afraid that, being prey animals, they think there is something to be afraid of. It is nice to read comments on a listserv of like minded people. --
