The Hudson County Genealogical Society presents ELLIS ISLAND: THE GOLDEN DOOR, a lecture by Tom Bernardin, kicking off the HCGS 2009-2010 Ethnic Research Series. Tom Bernardin's association with Ellis Island began in 1978 as a National Park Service Ranger, giving tours of pre-restoration Ellis Island. His slide-lecture presentation led to the publication of his book, "The Ellis Island Immigrant Cookbook." Tom is a licensed New York City tour guide and a 37-year resident of Manhattan, originally hailing from Lawrence, Massachusetts. His goal is to provide researchers and visitors to Ellis Island with a memorable, interesting, fun, comfortable and informative time as he looks back to our enlightening past. The meeting will be held Saturday, November 14th, 2009 at 11:00 am. Admission is free, and the meeting is held at the Secaucus Public Library and Business Resource Center, 1379 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ, 07094. Refreshments will be served, and copies of Toms' book, "The Ellis Island Immigrant Cookbook" will be available for purchase. Ellen Healy HCGS
