Dear ListServ Members, History and Base Ball Enthusiasts, Though our 2009 season has just ended, the Flemington Neshanock 19th Century Base Ball Club is scheduling matches for their 2010 season. 19th Century Base Ball clubs play competitively using baseball rules, uniforms, equipment and customs from the 19th Century. We're sort of like Civil War re-enactors, except we use bats and balls instead of guns (and no gloves!). Players are always willing to answer questions before, during or after our games, and interested "bugs" (fans) are always welcome to join the game and try their skill at 19th Century bare-handed base ball. A talk on the "History of Base Ball" is usually given before the game which includes my rendition of "Casey at the Bat". If your organization is interested in adding a 19th Century Base Ball game to an event or fundraiser, or if you would like more information on joining our 19th Century club as a player or interpreter, please write or call. Thanks, Brad "Brooklyn" Shaw President - Flemington Neshanock Base Ball Club www.neshanock.org 908-284-0921
