ALICE PAUL INSTITUTE CALLS FOR TRUSTEE NOMINATIONS MT. LAUREL, NJ - -The Alice Paul Institute welcomes nominations for three-year Board of Trustees terms starting January 2010. The Institute is seeking candidates with a variety of skills and backgrounds who are interested in promoting its mission and goals. Board members are expected to attend monthly meetings, to take an active leadership role in development, fundraising, membership or marketing and to help provide strategic direction for the Institute and its initiatives. They are required to serve on at least one of the Institute’s standing committees: Development, Finance, Governance and Strategic Planning, Membership, Marketing, Personnel, Program and Site. If you or someone you know is interested in serving on the Board of the Alice Paul Institute, please send a letter of interest and a resume by Dec. 1 to Rhonda DiMascio, President, Alice Paul Institute, Inc., P.O. The Alice Paul Institute (API) is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public about the life and work of New Jersey’s most famous suffragist, Alice Stokes Paul (1885-1977), author of the Equal Rights Amendment, founder of the National Woman’s Party, and a lifelong activist for women’s equality. API’s mission is to educate the public about her life, preserve historic Paulsdale, develop future leaders, and work towards achieving women’s equality. Paulsdale, Alice Paul’s birthplace and family home in Mount Laurel, is a National Historic Landmark and serves as a center for celebrating women’s history and leadership. The Institute plays a visible role in New Jersey public life, collaborating with other organizations on events and projects that highlight women’s history and contemporary issues.
