Sent: 28 January 2014 14:36 Dear All, It's a bit late but I'd like to submit a proposal for a panel at MESA 2014 on anything having to do with early medieval (Islamic) sectarianism or proto-sectarianism, especially papers on or related to either of the following: literary representations of foundational figures (e.g. fad?a?'il 'Ali, or H?usayn, etc.) or other hagiographical or biographical literature, up to the 9th/15th century. If you are interested, or are already working on these subjects, and can put together an abstract over the next week or so, please email it to me at Nancy_Khalek@Brown.edu by February 7th, and we'll give it a go. Thanks! Nancy -------- Nancy Khalek William A.
