Specific attention will be given to the role of fiqh and ijtihad in tackling social problems within and without Muslim countries. Papers which seek to engage with issues concerning the socio-political reforms being experienced and/or demanded across the Middle East and North Africa region will be particularly welcomed. Call for Papers To apply to present a paper at the conference please submit an abstract of the paper (max. 300 words). Abstracts should be submitted by 10 February 2012 to the address below. Selected papers of the conference will be published in the Journal of Shi'a Islamic Studies.
