Sent: Thursday, November 19, 2009 2:22 PM I wanted to take this opportunity to remind you of the following program this Sunday, Nov. 22, at the Historical Society of Baltimore County (1:30 p.m. 9811 Van Buren Lane, Cockeysville, MD 21030). Title: Swords, Armor, Stagecraft and History Sub Title: "Art Should Hurt" Description: For over two decades, brothers Matt and Kerry Stagmer have worked as professional arms makers for performance troupes throughout the region while their carefully researched work has appeared in movies, Renaissance festivals, and theatres all over the United States. Their company, Baltimore Knife and Sword, has evolved considerably over the past few years. The Stagmers, operating out of their workshop near Ellicott City, have developed a worldwide reputation for the excellent quality of their armor and sculpture as well as their sterling, gold, and platinum jewelry inspired by that found in Renaissance portraiture. While the primary focus is on swords and related items, their highly diverse interests often send them spinning in different directions leaving a trail of wonderful creations and forms in metal. Join us as the Stagmers display some of their best work and describe how their study of history has influenced their craft. Hope to see you and your kids or grandchildren there. STUDENTS ARE FREE!!!!! Non members are $5. Please see attached flyer and check out their website: http://www.baltimoreknife.com/ Refreshments are always available.
