Call for Submissions Journal of Levantine Studies (JLS) is a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the critical study of the social, political, and cultural settings that in various periods of history have been known as the Levant. As a platform for theoretical and empirical scholarship, JLS aims to reclaim the notion of the Levant as a historical and political concept and as a category of identity and classification. JLS publishes articles that are focused on the modern and contemporary eras and that engage academic discussion on relevant topics, including but not limited to: - Migrations of knowledge and people - Diaspora communities and networks - Culture, identity, and consumerism - Religious, social, and political thought - Political parties and religious movements We accept electronic submissions through our website: www.levantine-journal.org. Please review our Submission Guidelines before making your submission. In addition to scholarly articles, JLS publishes translations of works by scholars, writers, and intellectuals from the region. Send translation queries along with the original text and the CV of the proposed translator. We do not accept unsolicited book reviews.
